About UsWho We Are
Meet Mark Ivy
FCBA's Executive director Mark Ivy was born and grew up in Jacksonville where, as a kid he learned to love, live and breathe basketball. His serious involvement with the sport started with becoming the captain of Andrew Jackson High School Varsity Team. While at Andrew Jackson he was able to play the game he loved and develop leadership skills, respect for teamwork, discipline and responsibility that he hopes to pass on to young athletes at FCBA.
After high school Mark applied the same passion and discipline he played ball with to finishing college and obtaining a business degree. After earning his MBA from FAMU he moved to California to pursue a career in business and marketing. Still, wherever he went he took his love for basketball and his passion for community involvement with him. While developing his marketing career he kept coaching, volunteering and staying involved with the game. Among his other engagements he coached 6th and 7th grade for North Bay Basketball Academy, as well as lead their Basketball Skill Camp and volunteered with Boys and Girls Club in San Diego teaching kids basketball basics.
Understandably when the opportunity presented itself to return home and to give back to the community he grew up in Mark didn't hesitate. Managing FCBA combines his business expertise and his passion for basketball with the ability to empower and strengthen the local community by enabling young people to find their inner basketball star, while learning valuable life skills.
